PCS Deployments

AirGate PCS: All of COMPASS’ Development and Technical Services were demonstrated in 20 BTAs located across the Carolinas and Georgia for AirGate’s CDMA network. Our staff was involved in every aspect of the deployment from master lease negotiations and co-location management through the integration process. COMPASS was also responsible for the selection, design and construction efforts for multiple MSC locations throughout the network.

American Portable Telecom: Fixed Network Services in the Tampa, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Houston, Columbus and Pittsburgh MTAs for American Portable Telecom’s GSM network. COMPASS Team members were involved in all markets for the purpose of interconnect/switch planning and evaluation. COMPASS associates were further involved in site acquisitions within the Tampa MTA.

AT&T Wireless: Site Acquisition, Land Use Planning and Collocation Coordination in Los Angeles, Orange County and Riverside County (California) for AT&T’s 2G TDMA and 3G GPRS deployments. COMPASS’ Site Acquisition brokers and salespersons are undertaking the acquisition of new site leases for the Client’s wireless macro network. COMPASS is also responsible for securing land use entitlements and representing the Client during the public hearing process. Compass is also performing Engineering Design Services for each of the sites where it is providing Site Acquisition.

BellSouth Mobility DCS: Project Management and Fixed Network Services for BellSouth Mobility DCS in the Charlotte and Knoxville MTAs for 600 site GSM network. COMPASS staff assumed full responsibility for design and construction coordination in addition to Fixed Network/Interconnect Services.

Cingular Wireless: Provided Project Management, Site Acquisition, Site Design, Permitting/Zoning and Construction Management services throughout the Georgia, Alabama, North and South Carolina. Projects include New sites, System Modifications, Generator sites and Expansion work for over 1,000 Cingular sites. COMPASS is also providing Project Management, Site Acquisition, Site Design, Permitting/Zoning and Construction Management services for over 250+ sites in the Southern California market.

Cox PCS: Program Management and Fixed Network Services in the Los Angeles MTA for Cox PCS’ 600 site CDMA network. COMPASS associates were responsible for quality assurance and site audit management. Fixed Network methods and procedures were developed as well as RFQ preparation and evaluation. COMPASS has demonstrated that operators can receive redundancy and high reliability in their network without significantly increasing operating costs. This was accomplished through proper back-haul design and high capacity traffic routing.

Cricket Communications/Lucent Technologies: COMPASS provided Site Acquisition, Zoning, Permitting, Site Design and Construction Management on over 240 sites located in the Knoxville, Charlotte and Greensborough markets.

General Dynamic’s/Metricom: Provided General Dynamic Site Acquisition and Site Design services for Metricom’s Atlanta deployment. The Atlanta market was one of the first markets to be launched among 40 cities across the US. Metricom’s network consisted of macro-cell deployment of the Ricochet Internet based technology

IPCS/AirGate PCS: Project Management for the IPCS markets after being purchased by AirGate PCS. Markets to being managed include Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nebraska and Iowa.

Powertel: Project and Construction Management as well as Fixed Network Services in the Atlanta MTA for Powertel’s GSM network. Members of our staff were involved in every aspect of the deployment from acquisition through integration. COMPASS was instrumental in preparing the Columbus market for commercial launch in less than seven months. Fixed Network Services were also implemented in the Birmingham, Jacksonville and Memphis MTAs.

Sprint PCS: Site Acquisition, Land Use Planning and Entitlement, Construction Management, and A&E services in Northern and Southern California for approximately 200 of Sprint’s CDMA macro sites. The primary markets include Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. COMPASS team members are involved with leasing and zoning new telecommunication sites for the Client’s wireless macro network. COMPASS team members have also been involved in major modifications for existing telecommunication sites, including radio cabinet and antenna revisions and upgrades.

T-Mobile: Project Management, Site Acquisition, Site Design and Construction Management services for the Atlanta market site expansion work for T-Mobile/Powertel. These services cover projects including new sites, equipment upgrades and modification work.

Verizon: COMPASS is providing Site Acquisition, Site Design, Permitting, Zoning and Construction Management services for sites in the Atlanta metro area as well as Southern California.
